The USM Series of portable ultrasonic flaw detectors combine portability and versatility with ease of use. Its high-resolution LCD provides superior screen visibility in bright sunlight, normal room lighting, and dark lighting.

The USM 22 and USM 25 models come with a large 96 mm × 72 mm (3.2 in. × 2.8 in.) LCD display that's enclosed in a lightweight, portable housing. Weighing only 1.6 kg (including batteries), these flaw detectors have a strong, adjustable metal handle/prop stand that folds flat behind the instrument. Two rotary knobs provide an "analog feeling" that lets inspectors quickly set and adjust the instrument.

Several models are available, depending on the type of inspection that needs to be performed.
• USM 22B is a basic flaw detector.
• USM 22L is used for testing on large work pieces or high sound-attenuating materials. It has increased pulser energy and a maximum range of 10 m (390 in.) in steel at a frequency range from 0.1–4 MHz.
• USM 25/25 DAC/25S models add other performance features. The USM 25S is tailored for use with the reference block and DGS flaw evaluation methods.
• USM 23EX is an intrinsically safe compact digital instrument designed for explosion-endangered areas.
