The HFP Control System is a tool fault detection system for automated tapping operations on transfer lines, machining centers
The HFP Control System is a tool fault detection system for automated tapping operations on transfer lines, machining centers or flexible manufacturing lines. The system not only detects dull taps, but also helps avoid tool breakage caused by missing threads and holes. Because the tapholder takes the place of a separate probe for the drilled or tapped hole, the system eliminates the cost and floorspace required for the probing stations typically used in automated machining systems.

Features/Benefits:

  • In-process tool control immediately signals any irregularities in the tapping process and automatically stops it.
  • Wireless signal transmission to the receiver allows restriction-free application.
  • Inspection time and production losses during assembly are minimized.
  • The need for manual or other electronic thread gaging is eliminated.
  • High rework costs or scrap due to tool breakage can be avoided.
