For use in shopfloor environments or in the lab, the Multi-Ball Micrometer takes direct measurements of actual pitch diameter of internal threads, providing an economical way to instantly gage true thread P.D. size, taper, and other geometric variations.
Leitech U.S. Limitedshopfloor environments or in the lab, the Multi-Ball Micrometer takes direct measurements of actual pitch diameter of internal threads, providing an economical way to instantly gage true thread P.D. size, taper, and other geometric variations. This device lets you quickly identify, evaluate, and correct process deficiencies such as faulty tapping heads, tool deflection, incorrect offsets, and dull tools. Its ergonomic design offers a compact, lightweight alternative to cumbersome indicating thread gages.

The instrument employs three free-floating carbide balls as its gaging element to measure threads. To inspect a part, the micrometer is inserted at any point along the thread axis; the friction thimble has to be turned to uniformly engage the "Best Wire" size balls against the thread flanks.

Manufactured for durability using heat-treated stainless steel, the micrometer has a direct reading vernier scale that provides resolution to 0.0001 in. and test-proven repeatability of 0.0002 in. Several styles are available, depending on the application: three-point 180° contacting model or the 120° contact.
