Tecnomatix' Valisys Software Selected by Italian Aircraft Manufacturer
Valisys tolerance management and quality inspection software from Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. (Herzliya, Israel) has been selected by Fiat Avio, the Italian manufacturer of aircraft, helicopter, and space vehicle engines. Fiat Avio placed an initial order with Tecnomatix for $270,000.
"We selected Valisys as it enables complete tolerance management throughout the industrial process, and offers significant advantages in terms of quality control procedures, and improved measurement process efficiency," said C. Vinci, engineering manager at Fiat Avio.
The company will use the Valisys/Assembly module for 3D tolerance analysis and optimization of new engines and Valisys/CMM for the creation of coordinate measurement machine programs that will perform part measurement inspection. In addition, the company will "introduce Valisys technology as a strategic tool for production scrap reduction," according to Vinci.
"Our goal is to maintain quality to the highest standard, reduce scrap, and streamline the inspection process in order to get to market faster," added E. Ferrari, engineering turbo machinery design manager at Fiat Avio. "Valisys will help us to achieve these goals by maintaining our high level of product quality and by implementing optimal inspection processes and quality control procedures."
"Our increasing presence in this [aerospace] sector reflects the market's recognition of Tecnomatix' CAPE tools as a fundamental element in optimizing production and inspection processes, improving product quality, and reducing time-to-market," said Harel-Beit-On, president and CEO of Tecnomatix.
