South Fork Releases Two Data Sheets On Inline And Disposable Optical Flow Cells

South Fork Instruments, an established supplier of measurement instrumentation, analyzers, and control products, today announced the release of two new data sheets focused, respectively, on Disposable Flow Cells and Sanitary Flow Cells.

Developed by Kemtrak, a Sweden-based producer of inline measuring instruments and automation solutions for the industrial process engineering industry, they are designed to bring optical measurements online and in real time. The sheets detail the benefits, applications, and general specifications of each product.

The Disposable Flow Cells sheet features Kemtrak’s single-use hygienic optical measurement cells, which eliminate cross-contamination between products and batches. It offers the utmost in safety, convenience, and flexibility in bio-pharmaceutical processing. The second sheet on Sanitary Flow Cells highlights how Kemtrak optical flow cells can provide a physical window to a flowing process and enable real-time monitoring through connection of absorbance, transmission or scatter instrumentation.

Said John Daly, Technical Director at South Fork Instruments, “The Kemtrak single-use UV measurement system is ideally suited to chromatographic separation and filtration applications where a wide selection of line sizes and choice of measurement path lengths accommodate small-scale discovery to full-scale production.”

Benefits of Kemtrak’s disposable flow cells include, for example: Zero dead volume, quick release mechanism, optical path lengths from 10 mm (4.5 OD) to 0.5 mm (90 OD), USP Class VI and FDA certification, sterilized by autoclaving or irradiation. Kemtrak sanitary optical flow cells, on the other hand, bring benefits such as avoidance of sample contamination issues, no internal dead volume, safer production, and reduced landfill volume.
