Sheffield Endeavor Series CMMs
Endeavor CMMs provide performance suitable for quality labs— with volumetric accuracy up to 0.00032" (0.008mm) and 0.0001" (0.0025mm) repeatability—in an easy-to-own machine that can withstand the conditions of many manufacturing operations.
Temperature tolerant, vibration resistant
Most production areas experience swings in ambient temperature which severely compromise the accuracy of ordinary CMMs. To counter this, Endeavor models can withstand up to a ± 9ºF temperature variance. A granite table also contributes to Endeavor's thermal tolerance and provides a firm foundation resistant to vibration. Endeavor's overall structure is so solid it normally requires only a simple elastomeric isolation system rather than an expensive pneumatic arrangement.
Lower maintenance, higher reliability reduce cost and downtime
Unique design features that help Endeavor achieve high-accuracy performance also make it more reliable and much easier to maintain than other CMMs. The brushless linear motor direct drive system that moves the carriage eliminates many of the problems inherent in mechanical drives, such as misalignment, backlash and wear on moving parts. Using linear motor technology instead of a belt, screw or friction-type drive dramatically reduces the number of moving parts, resulting in much less wear and tear on the system. Also contributing to Endeavor's performance and reliability is a kinematic design that includes anextremely rigid, yet lightweight moving structure. This structure, supported by five optimally located bearing points, allows extremely accurate control with less stress on the drive system. Most of the moving structure's mass is ideally located on the driven side of the machine, which substantially reduces the tendency to "drag" the support post opposite the driven side, a characteristic of older bridge-type CMMs that decreases accuracy and repeatability.
Powerful, easy-to-use inspection software included
Endeavor Series CMMs feature the new MeasureMax+ suite of inspection software along with a user workstation equipped with computer, printer, monitor and stand. With its Windows interface, MeasureMax+ combines a full range of tasks including inspection, automatic part programming, process control, statistical analysis, and reverse engineering.
