Quality Expo Detroit: American SIP to Showcase CMMs

American SIP's newest line of CMMs — the Sirius 7 and Sirius 8 — will be featured at Quality Expo Detroit. The Sirius 7 features an X-Y-Z working envelope of 39.4 × 39.4 × 31.5 in. and can accommodate workpiece loads up to 2,640 lbs. The Sirius 8's envelope is larger in X at 59.l in. and handles up to 3,300 lbs. For both models, the measurement resolution is 0.1 µm (0.00001 in.). The cast iron closed frame, which sits on three-points, is built for maximum rigidity and precision.
The company's Winisip programming software is designed for users who require a flexible and compatible tool. The package, which runs on Windows NT, 95, or 98, can import IGES, Unisurf, SET, and VDA files from any CAD system for part display and programming, as well as DMIS programs in their original form.
Winisip features include:
- solid model representation
- features drawn as they are measured or constructed
- real-time alignment display
- probe position display
- intuitive measurement reports such as trend analysis, deviations, tolerances, dimensions, form, and positions
- simple editing
- reverse engineering
In addition, the company provides dedicated software modules for measuring gears, bevel gears, rotor screws, and threads.
