Predator Software signs with VerticalNet
The company aligns itself with online giant to strategically position its e-business
Predator Software Inc. today announced an agreement with VerticalNet, Inc., a leader in Internet business-to-business industrial communities, to expand its e-business strategy. In the agreement, Predator will actively market, sell, and distribute key software products via a customized E-Commerce Center on VerticalNet's Machine Tools Online (www.machinetoolsonline.com).
Visitors to Predator's E-Commerce Center will have quick access to general company and product information. They can also download demos, and place orders for specific web-ready Predator products. Machine Tools Online will offer Predator Virtual CNC, a CNC verification and simulation application, Predator CNC Editor, and Predator Grizzly Cables.
"Our relationship with VerticalNet is significant," said Jim Abbassian, Predator Software president and co-founder. "VerticalNet has vast online presence in our industry, and a variety of resources to offer our customers. Machine Tools Online is an ideal way to reach our online manufacturing audience."
Predator's E-Commerce Center is accessed directly from the Machine Tools Online home page. Customers can easily find product information to meet their specific needs. Information is available in a "fast read" format and can be examined online, or downloaded and printed in Adobe Acrobat PDF form. If a customer is familiar with Predator products, they can go immediately to Predator's online product catalog and download fully functional demo files or purchase select products online. When placing an order, customers go through a simple shopping cart process that allows them to download software and begin using it in roughly 15 minutes. There is also a detailed news area that outlines the latest Predator news announcements, as well as recent coverage of the company in the media.
"A key part of our e-strategy is to minimize the distance between our customers and the access they have to our products," said Abbassian. "The Internet, and VerticalNet in particular, are ideal vehicles for bridging the gap."
"We are excited to have a supplier alliance with Predator Software," said Nick Bloom, VerticalNet's vice president and director of the Manufacturing & Metals Group. "The products Predator sells are great for this platform. We plan to promote Predator's presence fairly aggressively within the Machine Tools Online community. Offering an Internet-based platform, which will enable the sale of software to their clients, is a logical step to create more efficient ways of doing business."
