Portable Surface Texture Measurement System

Taylor Hobson Ltd.3 is a surface texture measurement system designed to provide effective measurement of surface finish in the workshop, inspection room, or laboratory.

According to the manufacturer, operating functions are minimal, measurement cycles are short, and output is available from the system's built-in LCD or various printer options. The measurement process and operation is controlled via a wipe-clean membrane touch key panel with walk-through menu selections.

The instrument can be used horizontal, vertical, or inclined surfaces, or with accessories that include a bench mounted system for laboratory or batch measurement applications. The system's pick-up holder is mounted on a slide for vertical adjustment and can be rotated to different measuring positions including right-angled measurement.

The instrument is powered by NiCAD batteries or through an optional mains adaptor. In addition, its portable format makes is well suited for measuring surface textures on bores and parts inaccessible with conventional measuring instruments.

The system includes display and traverse unit, calibration standard, pick-up and diamond stylus, a carrying case, battery, and handbook.
