This external thread inspection gage is a portable handheld device that conforms to Federal Standard System 22 requirements. For use in the measurement range from 3–20 in. (76–510 mm), the gage incorporates both functional and pitch diameter size measurements into its design.
The thread inspection system can monitor vendor performance, develop statistical profiles, and reduce variability of threaded product. It employs a direct-reading design that's said to eliminate practically all random variations in the verification. In fact, gage wear and inspection time considered to be a fraction of go/no go inspection, and the unit's constant gaging pressure ensures uniformity of results and extends gage calibration cycles.
The gage is fully traceable to NIST.
