Panametric's ultrasonic precision thickness gages make instant measurements of metal parts

With the ability to make instant and accurate digital thickness measurements from one side of metal parts where the opposite side of the test material is difficult or impossible to reach, the Model 25 and 25HP handheld gages help improve product quality and reduce labor and material costs. These inspection tools provide cost-effective solutions and contain measurement features typically found in more expensive and complex devices, but at a lower cost.

Model 25 measures metal parts of various sizes and geometries including cans, containers, enclosures, coils, pipes, tubes, plates, sheets, skins, turbine blades, and machined parts. The gage can make thickness measurements from very thin to very thick: steel as thin as 0.006 in. (0.15 mm) and as thick as 20 in. (500 mm).

The versatile Model 25 and 25 HP thickness gages make measurements on plastics, glass, composites and other materials in addition to metals.

The 25HP (High Penetration) model, which can be used on metals as well, makes measurements on fiberglass, rubber, composites, glass, and castings that can be hard to access using standard ultrasonic gages. Its low frequency capability provides ultrasound penetration in these materials, which have a tendency to scatter and absorb ultrasound energy because of grain structure and internal fibers.

The Application Auto-Recall feature enables the user to select and recall any stored standard or custom transducer setup held in the gage's memory. This allows easy switching among contact, delay line, and immersion transducers, giving users the ability to solve myriad measurement problems.

Other features include min/max mode, hi-low alarm, instant inch/mm conversion, and long battery life. Measurement waveforms can be viewed live on a computer using the PC Scope option.

The gages, which carry a two-year limited warranty, come with charger/adapter, transducer cable, test block, couplant, carrying case, and instruction manual.
