Chatsworth, CA - Dytran Instruments, Inc. has released a new piezoelectric accelerometer designed for vibration monitoring on both commercial and military aircraft. Model 3309A is a ring-style charge mode accelerometer, and is capable of operating at temperatures up to +482°F (+250°C). The ability of the 3309A to operate under high temperatures, coupled with a high natural frequency, makes this unit ideal for engine vibration monitoring and various types of high-performance engine analysis.

Model 3309A is offered with a sensitivity of 5 pC/g and utilizes quartz, shear technology. It is hermetically sealed for reliable operation within high-humidity and dirty environments, as well as case-isolated to avoid annoying ground loop interference. Case ground isolation is achieved by internally isolating the accelerometer element from the outer housing.

This accelerometer features a radial 3-pin "Mighty Mouse" connector, as well as a miniature through-hole design which allows for the sensor to be turned 360 degrees prior to securing, aiding the user during sensor installation.
