Modular Data Collection System

Rockwell Automation, Inc./Explorer is an all-in-one 32-bit application that combines the functionality of the developer's Setup Editor, Rockwell Automation, Inc./DC, and a single-user database into an integrated data collection workstation system. The software is considered well suited for customers who require the professional features of a quality data analysis system without the need to implement a fully integrated data collection networking system. The developer's DataMover Utility, included with Explorer, is designed to provide an easy the means of providing long-term storage of data.

The application's modular design enables users to collect both variable and attribute data using a variety of gages or input devices, and to store collected data in the its database for future analysis. Users can also monitor and analyze the results of the data collection process as it is occurring, perform Gage R&R studies, analyze historical data collected with the developer's data collectors, and generate reports on historical collected data.

According to the developer, the application supports virtually any gage type including direct connect serial gages, serial/continuous serial gages (including Barcode Wands), high-level analog gages, and LVDT probes. The DataMyte InterGage Card and the 916 LVDT Gaging System are also supported.
