Metris Announces Free Focus Inspection Viewer

Leuven – Metris, the market leader in CMM based 3D laser scanning, announces the release of a free viewer that enables users to view Focus Inspection reports. Metris' Focus Inspection 8.0 Viewer incorporates all the reporting functionalities offered by the full package.

The Inspection Viewer allows everyone involved in the inspection process to interpret the results on their own PC in full 3D. "Sharing 3D results is most valuable for colleagues, suppliers, distributors and customers from shop floor to management level," says Metris' VP Marketing Olivier Georis. "With our free viewing software, there are no restrictions on the number of users to share the results. This greatly improves communication and decisionmaking and finally leads to better quality and faster time-to-market".

The users can visualize 3D results by rotating and zooming on global deviation maps, crosssections and feature comparisons. The easy-to-use, but yet powerful Viewer allows changing and/or adding of:

• Tolerance schemes
• Flyouts
• Dimensions
• Gap-step dimensions
• Color bar
• Text annotations.

The user can conclude by creating customizable Excel based reports.
