MCV-500 Compact Linear Machine Calibration System

Optodyne Incorporated Compact Linear Calibration System is designed and priced to make calibration of machines an option for machine shops of all sizes, without sacrificing accuracy. The system is configured to collect and analyze data for linear measurements and calibration of axes on machine tools, CMMs, or X-Y tables.

The system is calibrated and traceable to N.I.S.T. and, according to the manufacturer, combines accuracy and low cost at levels never before attainable in the machine tool industry. It is comprised of Windows(TM) software, and runs on any Windows(TM) compatible PC with an RS-232 port. The software enables the operator to automatically collect linear position data in accordance with various industry standards. Material temperature, air temperature, and barometric pressure variations are automatically compensated for by software using data from the system's standard automatic temperature compensation package.

The software displays information from the systems sensors and allows the operator to input variables for the machine thermal expansion as well as the measurement increments and the number of runs to be collected. The standard linear data collection and analysis software allows the operator to collect data manually or automatically. The analysis portion of the software supports national and international standards such as ASME B5.54 and ISO-230.

Data can be displayed on the screen of the computer or printed in tabular and graphic format. The system has a linear range of 50 ft (15m). The system is lightweight and compact, providing easy, convenient storage and transport for field service work.

Options are also available for Laser/Ballbar, Volumetric (both standard and the new Vector measurement) and Straightness and Squareness measurements.
