Optodyne Incorporated0 utilizes a dual beam laser head module, a dual channel processor and squareness optics to accomplish linear, angular (pitch, yaw, straightness, flatness) and squareness measurement and calibration of axes on a machine tool, CMM, or X-Y table.

The software runs on any Windows(TM) compatible computer and enables the operator to automatically collect linear and angular position (simultaneously) in accordance with industry standards. Squareness measurements are accomplished using the squareness software package, which directs the operator in equipment setup and data collection. Material temperature, air temperature and air pressure variations are automatically compensated for by software using data from the system's sensors.

The operator of the software defines both single and multiple passes and the measurement increments. The data can be displayed or printed in tabular or graphical format.
