Mahr Federal to be Headquartered in Providence, RI

The Mahr Group (Goettingen, Germany), parent company of the recently formed Mahr Federal Inc., has announced that the new company's headquarters will be in Providence, RI.

According to Mahr Group Chairman Thomas Keidel, the merger has provided a strategically important production site in the U.S. Mahr's existing facility in Cincinnati, OH, will continue to operate as a sales, support, demonstration, and development center. As a result of the merger, the expanded presence in the U.S. will strengthen the Mahr Group's position in North and South America, England, and other English-speaking markets where the former Federal Products maintained strong sales. "Together, we will have the global critical mass to secure a competitive cost position," said Keidel.

The combined Mahr Federal product line will include calipers and micrometers; test indicators; dial and digital indicators; mechanical, air, and electronic gaging; dimensional standards; devices for surface finish and geometry gaging; gage calibration systems; custom gages; and several brands of CMMs.

Customers of the new company "will see even stronger support and more innovative products and services. The wider range of products available to our sales and applications engineers will make it easier for them to address customer measuring problems," explained Joe Golemme, Federal Products president.
