Length Gages

Part of the Metro family, the MT 1201 and MT 2501 gages serve as self-guided sealed linear encoders that are used for inspecting part tolerances for electronic length measurements. These gages offer accuracy of ±0.2µm over the entire measuring length of either 12 or 25 mm.

The measuring standard is a Diadur phase grating on a Zerodur glass-ceramic substrate; the phase grating has a period of 4µm and the system can measure steps down to 0.05µm. An integral spring automatically moves the ball-bush guided plungers into measuring position on the unit.

The gages provide sinusoidal incremental signals with 11 µApp or 1 Vpp or TTL square wave output signals with 5- or 10-fold signal interpolation. Display units or PC counter cards are available for evaluating and displaying the measuring signals.
