Paraform Inspection software is designed to visually inspect and verify that 3D parts conform to all requirements and meet stringent quality guidelines
Paraform Inspection software is designed to visually inspect and verify that 3D parts conform to all requirements and meet stringent quality guidelines.

When used with industry-standard coordinate metrology systems, such as laser scanners and trigger probe, contact, and non-contact CMMs, the software enables quality assurance professionals to:

  • import point cloud data (ASCII or X-Y-Z)
  • mport CAD data as a solid model (IGES, STEP)
  • edit the point cloud to eliminate erroneous points
  • directly align (register) point cloud data to a solid model
  • compare as-manufactured (point cloud) data with as-designed (CAD) data
  • generate a part deviations map in color or needle formats
  • display and compare solid geometric features such as planarity, cylindricity, etc., in the CAD
  • model with solid features computed from the point cloud data
  • make immediate pass/fail manufacturing decisions

The developer states that the package employs state-of-the-art technology in computational metrology and can analyze complex geometries, even when point cloud sizes are very large. Its underlying metrology engine is also said to provide results significantly faster than other package available.

The software is optimized for large datasets, uses all data points, operates on the same computer as the inspection device, and supports analysis on geometries such as cylinder, plane, cone, sphere, torus, and NURBS.

Developed for use in automotive, aerospace, marine, optics, consumer products, and power systems, applications include parts and geometric feature verification, reverse engineering, production process improvement, and tooling maintenance.
