Providing measurement flexibility in shopfloor environments, the Tri-Bore Gage measures bores of differing diameters up to 0.59 in./15 mm. Able to perform comparative measurements, the device features three gaging contacts at 120° to each other, which allows positive centering and alignment in machined bores.

Measuring heads are available with hardened steel or tungsten carbide contacts for use in through holes or blind holes. Measuring capacities range from 0.24–0.31 in. to 3.34–3.94 in., and heads can be replaced to extend the instrument's range as much as 1.18 in.

This pistol-grip device uses a trigger-like lever to retract contacts, allowing easy access into bores and behind restricted entry holes. Maximum gaging depths vary from 2.1–5.2 in.; extensions can more than double the depth.

The unit also can be used to check for three-point lobing and taper conditions.
