In-process Gaging from Marposs is Tailored for Grinding Systems

Source: Marposs Corporation

On display in the Marposs booth will be the Unimar system for in-process gaging of grinding operations. When coupled with the company's P5 amplifier and the graphical human-machine interface, the gage can be used on internal, O.D., double-disc, and surface grinders as well as in positioning applications. The gage comes equipped with one of the company's DATA microchips in the head that tracks critical performance data.

This compact instrument delivers accuracy of 0.1 micron repeatability and is rugged to withstand the harsh environments of grinding operations. After it's installed, the gage provides a 25 mm measuring range on diameter without the need for added mechanical intervention, which puts an end to clutches, tools, and lever adjustments.

The gage is said to provide improved grinding performance, shorter changeover times at set-up, and increased parts productivity than is found using a traditional grinding gage system.

The gage can be used in both high-volume production facilities as well as small shops.
