The SIP 33M is designed to provide dimensional control of workpieces, gages, and tooling in micro-precision mechanics applications. It uses ergonomics to enable precise measurement and accurate statistical analysis of batches of workpieces.

Features include a rigid, stabilized structure with three-point support, a SIP steel grating scale, ball bearing guideways, opto-electronical measuring system, and lapped probe surfaces. The unit is said to be negligibly affected by vibration and temperature variations.

Benefits of the unit include long lasting high precision, guaranteed traceability, straight and repeatable movements, insignificant friction and wear, speed control probing, measuring force applied by scale, and stable measuring conditions.

Specs include:

  • measuring range: 0-33 mm (1.3 in)
  • quick release travel: 2 mm (0.08 in)
  • floating movement with constant force: ± 500 µm (0.02 in)
  • measuring uncertainty: 0.3 µm (12 µin)
  • repeatability: 0.2 µm (8 µin)
  • resolution: 0.1 µm (4 µin)

The device comes with an electronic display unit that performs a variety of functions including processing of the measuring signals; amplification, digitalization, and standardization of signals; reset and preset; and operation monitoring and error messages.
