Combining a modular package of CNC and manual horizontal arm CMM technology with the latest control system and software developments, the Impel CMM allows measuring, scanning, and marking-out routines to be achieved with high levels of consistency of measured results.
Combining a modular package of CNC and manual horizontal arm CMM technology with the latest control system and software developments, the Impel CMM allows measuring, scanning, and marking-out routines to be achieved with high levels of consistency of measured results.

The CNC versions have disengageable drives that allow the user to make quick manual measurements; a choice of side-mounted, rail-mounted, or mobile machine types can be specified. Control is 32-bit continuous motion with high-speed traverse rates of 21 m/min and 1 m/sec2 acceleration through the measuring volume. Each axis can be specified in various standard sizes to match inspection needs; custom, non-standard sizes also are available.

The manual models are equipped with fine adjustment and individual electro-magnetic axis locks; they can be upgraded to CNC types.

The essential working elements are housed within a moving carriage designed to maximize precision and maintain critical stability and geometrical relationships between vertical and horizontal axes. Twin-track precision roller bearings are used throughout the machine, and the counter-balance system compensates for marking-out and probing systems with its patented, self-locking prevention of accidental ‘free-fall' of the carriage assembly.
