High-quality solutions at Quality Expo International 2001

Norwalk, CT – Quality Expo International (QEI) introduces its exclusive conference program specifically designed for the quality professional. The QEI conference runs concurrent with the trade show on April 24-26 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. Attendees are given the opportunity to network while gaining invaluable professional development and further education. As a part of the quality community, QEI heightens the awareness of the evolving world of manufacturing and the technology required to meet the demands of global competition.

The 2001 cross-functional conference program has been modified and targeted to requests made by attendees of previous Quality events. The new program now offers cutting-edge technological and applications-oriented sessions giving quality professionals greater insight into the technologies and solutions that will shape the manufacturing industry of the 21st Century. The QEI conference program is separated into seven tracks focused on different sectors of the industry. The conference tracks are as follows:

Training for Quality – These sessions are designed to provide new insights to improving effectiveness and productivity for business excellence in the manufacturing community.

Metrology Toolbox – Leading edge presentations on quality issues and technology innovations, provided for every level of expertise, from the shop floor to production engineer.

Management Practices – Cost effective, time saving and performance improvement sessions specifically provided for immediate use in every manufacturing environment.

Shop Floor Applications – Designed for expanding the level of expertise of the quality professional. Leading edge issues, technology and measurement capabilities and process control implementation.

Certifications Issues – Quality issues and technology increasingly impact the shop floor, these sessions focus on the registration and certification keys to performance excellence.

Statistical Savvy – Presentations designed to expand the practical knowledge with real world solutions in process improvement, Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical software issues for performance improvements.

Test & Analysis – Presentations on innovations in measurement uncertainties, methods divergence, controls, testing and process tolerancing.

Attendees are able to select sessions from the seven different conference tracks to better meet their individual needs. QEI conference sessions address the processes, services and solutions that directly impact product reliability and quality assurance in manufacturing. Each session gives attendees access to the innovations and solutions that are currently available and how these effect the evolution of the quality professional.

Along with the variety of sessions available, conferees also have the option of selecting to attend one of four workshops. Workshops are three-hour sessions focused on four prominent areas of manufacturing and include the following:

  • Benchmarking & Best Practices
  • Brainteaser 2001…From SPC to Continual Improvement
  • Training Employees in the Workplace, English and Non-English Speaking
  • Document Implementation

Presented by industry leaders, each workshop addresses effective tools that can be put to immediate use in the manufacturing environment. Conferees enrolled in the workshops will be provided a lunch. Quality Expo International conference workshops are scheduled for Thursday, April 26 and space is limited.

QEI Introduces Three ALL New Specialized Courses
The QEI conference has been expanded to include three all-new specialized courses presented by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and QAI. These courses are designed to enhance professional development and further educate the quality professional in the specified areas of performance enhancements, environmental issues and auditing. Specialized courses include the following:

Internal Quality Auditor – A two day, 16 hour training course by QAI giving attendees a hands-on practice audit exercises utilizing actual ISO/QS documentation. The course includes more than a dissertation and lecture of the "legalistic requirements" described in the ISO9000 and QS9000 Standards.

Environmental Management System: Aspects and Impacts – An ASQ, one-day course providing a step-by-step process for companies preparing an Environmental Management System (EMS).

Internal Quality Auditor –A one-day session presented by the ASQ designed to increase and add depth to an auditor's skill level, how processes are managed and what an auditor should uncover.
