Electronic Height Gage for 2D Measurement

Brown & Sharpe, Inc.ite 1D/2D electronic height gage measures in two dimensions in either rectangular or polar coordinates. The gage is designed to allow operators to measure the feature or features, rotate the part through a known angle, and measure the same features again on a new axis. The gage's new electronic software is programmed to calculate 2D measurement.

With built-in software in its 1D/2D control module, the electronic gage can measure and automatically calculate external, internal and distance dimension; angles; centerline-to-centerline distances; perpendicularity; flatness; straightness; parallelism; centers; diameters; deviations and feature relationships; geometric relationships expressed in rectangular or angular coordinates; minimum/maximum diameters of bolt hole circles; and concentricity.

In addition, a simple 1D control panel with an on-screen function display is available and is interchangeable with the 1D/2D module.

The gage moves on a cushion of air generated by a self-contained pneumatic system. The gage is powered by rechargeable battery packs— two are provided so that one can recharge while the other is in use.

The gages are available with 14-in. (365mm), 24-in. (615mm), or 36-in. (920mm) of travel. The measuring range can be increased with extension probes.
