Eddy Current Tubing Probes

Source: Zetec Inc.
These eddy current probes are designed for inspecting tubing in steam generators, condensers, feedwater heaters, chillers, and other heat exchangers
These eddy current probes are designed for inspecting tubing in steam generators, condensers, feedwater heaters, chillers, and other heat exchangers. They can detect many types of tubing failures including circumferential cracks, axial cracks, corrosion, ID and OD pitting, ID and OD wall thinning, fretting under tube supports, and steam impingement.

Several designs of flexible and solid bodies are available to meet diverse inspection requirements. Small diameter, tight radius u-bends require smaller, more flexible probe designs, while the in-service condition of tubing may mandate most durable probe.

Using different coil configurations, such as bobbin, pancake, crosswound, differential, absolute, and driver pick-up (also known as reflection or send-receive), can maximize a probe's effectiveness. Various combinations of coil types in a single probe head allow you to examine tubes for multiple defect types with a single pass of the probe.
