The Scout DSL (Digital Serial Link) digital vision inspection system is designed for industrial applications that do not require rugged enclosures
The Scout DSL (Digital Serial Link) digital vision inspection system is designed for industrial applications that do not require rugged enclosures. In a PC-style enclosure with a desktop monitor, the system can support a network of up to 16 cameras with all the power of the top-of-the-line Passport DSL but at a more economical price. A desktop flat-screen monitor is also available.

Said to be the first completely digital machine vision system, the system can transmit noise-free digital images, data, and triggers at 330Mbps as well as deliver precise, repeatable performance with sub-pixel accuracy. In addition, the system comes with VPM graphical programming software and has hardware-accelerated algorithms.

This vision inspection system can be used in production facilities with less demanding environments, such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and medical products. The cameras capture asynchronous, non-interlaced video images at rates up to 4,000 full frames per minute. It's suitable for applications such as dimensional inspection, flaw detection, and character verification.

The system comes with a high-performance image processor with a scalable digital network of hubs, cameras and lighting.
