Solartron Metrologyused with the company's linear encoders and digital probes, the DR600 digital readout has a conventional numeric display supplemented by an alphanumeric one. During the set-up routine, the 24-character information display guides the user through a series of menus. In operating mode, four soft keys give direct access to relevant controls.

Features include:

  • nine-digit LED display with polarity and decimal point
  • ±999.999 99 mm or ±39.370078 in. display length with automatic suppression of redundant leading zeros
  • 0.05µm or 2 millionths in. display resolution with linear encoders

    Functions accessible through the unit's front panel include zero, print, motor drive (which controls up/down for motor-driven probes), selection of 10 different programs [each with its own assigned preset, limits and probes, or pair of probes (A+B or A-B)], 10 preset memories that allow storage of 10 preset values, and soft keys that permit direct toggle between incremental and absolute datum.

    Other front panel functions include min/max, limits/tolerance that shows high and low limit values and stores up to 10 limits, assignments of up to 10 probes or probe pairs for different programs, scanning of up to 30 probes, choice of resolutions, count direction, reference mark, and display freeze.
