Design of Experiments Software

Source: Stat-Ease, Inc.
Design-Expert Version 6 software allows you to perform Design of Experiments including general (multilevel) factorials for categorical factors; combinations of mixture and/or process and/or categorical factors; up to 256-run, two-level designs with optimum blocking options; Taguchi orthogonal arrays; Box-Behnken (RSM) designs for 9 and 10 factors; and up to 24 components for most mixture designs (not just screening)
Stat-Ease, Inc.rt Version 6 software allows you to perform Design of Experiments including general (multilevel) factorials for categorical factors; combinations of mixture and/or process and/or categorical factors; up to 256-run, two-level designs with optimum blocking options; Taguchi orthogonal arrays; Box-Behnken (RSM) designs for 9 and 10 factors; and up to 24 components for most mixture designs (not just screening). In addition, power calculations are included in the design evaluation tools.

This version beefs up flexibility, allowing users to ignore a row of data while preserving the numbers, add new factors and blocking to existing designs, change factors from numerical to categorical and back, define generators for fractional factorial designs, and change models from polynomial (RSM) to factorial and back. In addition, users can add integer power terms to a model (for example, quartic), select terms for model or error or to be ignored, which permits analysis of split-plot or nested designs), and benefit from the software's new user preferences.

The tool has expanded the help function to include more context-sensitive help, improved guidance for model choice, and annotated views that provide explanation of statistical outputs.

Other enhancements include changes to analysis of variance (ANOVA) output, more graphs, upgrades to numerical optimization, and an improved interface.

System requirements include Pentium 200 MHz processor or higher recommended (minimum 486), Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, or 2000 (or equivalent emulation), mouse or other pointing device, Super VGA monitor and graphics adapter (800 × 600 resolution or better), and 10 MB hard disk space.
