Designed to be a true production shopfloor flexible gage, the Umpire CMG is said to deliver the ruggedness of workshop-hardened gages with the precision of dedicated gaging. The unit boasts design simplicity with less than 60 parts. And because it is completely encapsulated in a stylized one-piece cover, the unit resists shopfloor contamination.

This inspection tool has a Cartesian structure where each axis uses hardened linear guides with optimum bearing spreads. Centrally located ballscrew drive shafts are coupled to the servo motor, providing mechanically derived accuracy. Its measuring volume is 350 x 350 x 300 mm, which is suitable for small- and medium-size components. In addition, the unit has no exposed moving parts or bellows.

An adjustable, fixed pitch Z column means that the total Z measuring travel is available and can be positioned exactly for specific application requirements. The instrument can be supplied as a ready-to-measure production gage with fixtures and inspection programs in place. An optional granite base plate is available.
