Fischer Technology, Inc.of handheld coating thickness measurement devices, called the MP0D series, is available in three models. The Isoscope, Permascope, and Dualscope models are designed to display coating thickness readings as well as their statistical evaluations. An integrated constant pressure probe permits one-hand operation. Data can be output either to a printer or computer.

Using the eddy current method, the Isoscope model measures non-conductive coatings on non-ferrous metals and anodic coatings on aluminum. The Permascope uses magnetic induction to measure non-ferrous metal coatings and non-conductive coatings on iron and steel.

The third model, which employs either eddy current or magnetic induction methods, the Dualscope measures non-conductive coatings on non-ferrous metals as well as non-ferrous metal coatings and non-conductive coatings on iron and steel. The device can automatically recognize the material to be measured and will choose the appropriate method.
