Anritsu Enhances MT8870A/MT8872A C-V2X Measurement Functions To Meet Market Need For AD/ADAS Verification Solution

New Software Expands Capability of Test Sets to Support Verification of C-V2X Devices

Anritsu Company introduces the LTE-V2X PSCCH TX Measurement MX887068A-001 software option that enhances the Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) measurement functionality of its Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A/MT8872A. With the new software, an Anritsu Universal Test Wireless Test Set can be configured as an effective R&D or high-volume manufacturing test environment to support pre-release laboratory evaluation of C-V2X devices.

Adding the new software option to existing LTE-V2X Tx Measurement MX887068A software augments the MT8870A/MT8872A into a comprehensive test set. The instruments now support the Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH) for LTE-V2X PC5 and RF measurement of Physical Sidelink Control Channel (PSCCH), as well as evaluation of R&D RF test items.

Meeting Market Need
The LTE-V2X PSCCH TX Measurement software has been developed to meet the growing implementation of Autonomous Driving/Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (AD/ADAS) with V2X in automotive designs. LTE-V2X PC5 will be compatible with other radio access technologies, such as 5G V2N (Vehicle-to-Network) and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). It is expected to be adopted for connected autonomous vehicle applications.

Japan, Europe, and China are researching V2X for the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), and RF evaluation of V2X is becoming increasingly important for driver, passenger, and pedestrian safety. V2X is used for Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC), such as Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), while C-V2X using mobile communication technology with a wider communication range is also being explored.

Anritsu is continuing to develop automotive test solutions for various use cases, including wireless connectivity, ITS, AD/ADAS, and infotainment. Anritsu is committed to helping the automotive industry secure autonomous driving, as well as a safe and secure society.

Universal Wireless Test Set Outline
The Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A/MT8872A series is designed for R&D and manufacturing various wireless communication equipment and modules. Installing up to four high-performance test modules in the main unit supports a seamless frequency band up to 7.3 GHz with a 200 MHz bandwidth.

Each module within the MT8870A/MT8872A main unit measures independently and in parallel. This unique capability to simultaneously evaluate multiple wireless communications devices dramatically shortens test times compared to competitive solutions, for faster throughput and time-to-market.
