3D Laser Profilometer

The LaserScan 3D profilometer is designed for making laser measurements and analysis of surfaces
The LaserScan 3D profilometer is designed for making laser measurements and analysis of surfaces. Suited for engineering/QC and R&D, it is said to provide non-contact surface profilometry without sacrificing accuracy. The key to the system design is the modularity of component selection and its use of sensor and staging configurations.
The system performs non-destructive laser measuring of touch-sensitive surfaces, has accuracy and range that address the measurement task, offers vertical resolution down to 0.01 µm, has a fast sensor cycle time (up to 100 KHz), and rapid stage positioning (up to 60 mm/sec).
Applications include:
- automotive component measurement of wear, radius of curvature, and surface finish
- thick-film and hybrid fabrication for height measurement (wet and dry)
- flip chip bump height, co-planarity, and package warpage
- paper printability and surface texture, using FFT and auto correlation
- air gap thickness for medical devices and instrumentation
