Galileo Thermometer
Each glass sphere is precision crafted and calibrated, creating an insturment that is accurate within =/-1°f (2/10°C)
We can laser engrave a wooden base, etch the glass or metal, or screen print the Galileo
History
This fascinating and functional instrument demonstrates the link between science and art. Measuring heat had been a puzzle in the circle of practical and learned men of the 16th century Venice. Among these men was the brilliant astronomer Galileo Galilei, who discovered that as a liquid's temperature increases its buoyancy decreases. His findings inspired this unusual and interesting thermometer with colorful spheres that rise and fall to indicate temperature.
Theory
In a liquid, a solid body, in this case glass spheres with the same weight and size will sink as the temperature rises; the same body will rise as the temperature falls.
Functional and Decorative
Colors: red, green, clear, black, bordeaux, cognac or mixed colors
