BuildIT releases updated version of its inspection and assembly solutions for advanced manufacturing, metrology assisted assembly and quality control

Montreal, Qc (PRWEB) - BuildIT Software & Solutions Ltd. is pleased to announce the release of BuildIT 2014.5, a major update to the 3D metrology software’s latest version. The BuildIT 2014.5 update features automatic alignment computation during GD&T analysis, the addition of variables in process playback and added support for AICON MoveInspect devices. Several under-the-hood enhancements improve processing speed, including a new data-structure providing smoother handling of large point clouds and various refinements to the graphical display.

The 3D metrology software enables quick and easy dimensional inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies for tool building, assembly, alignment, process automation and quality control. With both numerical and graphical feedback of real-time deviations, BuildIT allows users to position parts with micrometer accuracy for high-precision assembly applications.

The software’s key features include CAD-to-part inspection, GD&T analysis, creation of custom automated processes and generation of extensive reports. It interfaces in real-time with a variety of probing and scanning measurement devices from all major hardware vendors, including FARO, Leica, Romer, API, Creaform and AICON, enabling the quick and efficient acquisition of dimensional information from a tool or part. BuildIT directly reads 3D CAD files from native (CATIA®V4 V5 V6, NX, Parasolid, CREO (Pro/E), Inventor, SolidWorks) or neutral formats (IGES, STEP, SAT, JT), as well as GD&T, FTA and NX-PMI assembly level data for model based inspection and assembly. In addition, BuildIT imports measured point data from external sources for maximum compatibility.

BuildIT supports DML export, enabling Statistical Process Control (SPC) through DPV Lite, a Siemens PLM product. The ability to perform a statistical analysis of the manufacturing process complements BuildIT’s core offering by expanding the use of the analysis data into control charts to reduce waste and increase product conformity.
