Portable Optical CMM - Now Also For Welded Studs
Braunschweig, Germany - Quality assurance has a major importance for every manu-facturing company. To stay competitively viable, manufacturers often use optical 3D measurement systems for production control. Systems are being preferred, which are versatile usable and provide perfect results even under difficult production conditions. The optical measurement system DPA from AICON, which works with a high resolution digital camera as sensor, fulfills these requirements. Any sized object from very small parts to whole airplanes can be measured with DPA on site. The em-ployment under extreme conditions is no problem. It doesn’t matter whether in inaccessible areas or in a climate chamber – DPA always provides reliable high-precision measurement results!
But AICON keeps developing their established products! Like the portable 3D measurement system DPA, that is already used successfully in industry for many years. On time for the Control AICON pre-sents its latest product developments, which make the measurement with DPA even better and faster in certain applications: The new scale bar generation, the welded stud measurement system and the telescope camera stand.
The new scale bar generation offers enormous advantages for the operator concerning accuracy and flexibility. By four instead of yet two targets the exactness of the DPA measurement can now easily be verified. At the same time the viewing direction of the measurement targets is freely selectable. The new flexible mountings are freely positionable at the scale bar and therefore enable a 360° rotary op-tion. And on magnetic surfaces the new benchmarks are fixed fast and uncomplicated by strong magnets. Beyond that a thread enables further fastening possibilities. More flexibility at concurrent high accuracy is hardly to achieve!
Especially for application in the automobile industry AICON’s engineers have developed the unique DPA welded studs measuring system: an elegant solution for the determination of the position of welded studs at the body framework in relation to the CAD reference data. So far the verification of the right positioning of the studs was a tedious process. Thanks to the new self-centering adapters the desired CAD zero position is quickly reached. Even under adverse production conditions. Regardless of vibrations, dirt, dust or even reflections – the solid DPA measurement procedure always provides highly accurate results.
With the DPA telescope camera stand difficult camera positions at measurements are a piece of cake now. By its maximum length of 6.5 m climbing on ladders or scaffolds belongs to the past. That does not only increase the working safety but saves time and money, too. Furthermore the better distributed higher and more flexible camera positions generate more stable DPA picture units. Especially at the measurement of tall objects the accuracy is substantially increased.
