The new balance is the next generation of the Scout line that was launched in 1996, Evans said. The Scout II now provides users with the addition of 1200g and 6000g high capacity models for heavy loads, RS232 interface availability on all models and improved resistance to environmental factors.
Scout II still offers all the popular features of its predecessor, including easy two-button operation, overload protection up to 150% of capacity, an integral security bracket and a large, easy to read display.
The Scout II can be carried just about anywhere and is perfect for a wide range of applications, Evans noted. "Whether in the laboratory, classroom or in the field, these exceptional balances are equally adept", she said.
Evans explained, "Our Scout balances have been extremely successful products. However, with the new Scout II, we have an opportunity to create a balance that incorporates the expanding needs of our customers. Higher capacities for greater weighing flexibility and RS232 interface for data recording are just two of the enhanced features that are now offered."
The Scout II, which operates with an AC adapter or one 9-volt battery, offers a host of other features including indicators for stability, over/under load and low battery warning. It has multiple weighing units, parts counting and a weigh below hook for density and specific gravity measurements.
